Avanturin

Aventurine is a form of quartz whose value is enhanced by a number of mineral inclusions in a colorless base. A classic admixture is fuchsite mica flakes, which cause the typical shimmering appearance and bluish or greenish color.

The Mohs hardness is slightly lower than that of pure quartz, yet the processing of the mined raw material belongs already to the more demanding ones. Its world deposits include South America and India. For centuries it has been a popular raw material for the production of artistic monuments, decorations, and jewellery. It undoubtedly stands out on the design lounger as well.
